Frequently Asked Questions
Find out about our most frequently asked questions, and their answers. Our FAQ section offers concise insights into Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) certificates.
The Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) Certificate, also known as the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN), is a mandatory document required for shipping goods to certain African countries. It ensures that detailed cargo information is provided before arrival, aiding customs authorities in preparing for the shipment, enforcing regulations, and preventing illegal trade. Failure to present the ACD/ECTN can result in fines and delays, making it essential for efficient and compliant international shipping.
For shipping goods to Sudan, the Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) must be obtained before the cargo arrives at the port of discharge.
The ACD should be secured at least five days before the vessel's departure to Sudan. This timeframe allows for processing and any necessary corrections, ensuring compliance with Sudan's cargo declaration requirements and avoiding complications during customs clearance.
According to law, as of (...) all shipments that will be unloaded in Sudan must have a ACD certificate. Please contact us for more information.

Yes, it is possible to obtain a Sudan ACD with a draft Bill of Lading (BL). The draft BL is generally accepted during the initial application process for the ACD, and the final BL must include the ACD number.
As ACD Sudan we are able to deliver this ACD Number the same day as the application being the authorized agency. (In some cases may take up to 5 business days).
All transactions involving goods imported into Sudan must include an ACD Reference Number on the bill of lading.
Every shipment needs it's own ACD Certificate. ACD Certificates are only valid for the shipment for which they are issued.
